Q: The unit I looked at today is $190/week ensuite. The room I saw last night was $110 but I gotta share the kitchen, toilet and bath with students. So, why am I looking for another place to move back to West End when all I have is a Pizza delivery job that pays me just enough to get by (I hope)?

Well, been forever since my last update. Too many things have changed. For starters, I've graduated, again. Now for the job hunt - dreadful as ever, though anticipating the new things in life. I'll get paid that way, instead of living off my allowance. And wow-wee! Paying off the massive bank loan I took to fund my studies here.

In the meantime, I'm doing Pizza delivery. At least I'm getting paid. And I'm kinda living a life slightly inspired by Neal Stephenson. Hoo well.

The next update? I don't know when. Hopefully sooner, rather than later.

PS. Have you guys met Doreen? She's the one on the left? <----

Waking up in the best city in the World

I woke up feeling woozy and happy today and I don't know why. I know it's about 6 deg C outside. But heck, it's voted the best city in the World 2 years in a row and how could you not be happy being in Melbourne?

Hey, how are you doing folks? It's been a while since I've been here. But it's been a pretty tough semester. Who would have thought Masters was gonna be this tough? Apparently, not I. It didn't help that I had problems form home too, but it's coming to pass, and I'm glad for that, especially if the trend continues. I'm definitely hoping the reduced load next semester will help. And I've got to start looking for a casual job, plus putting everything else back in order too. I'm burning far too much, financially. I swear I gotta start working out a proper budget soon.

Anyway, I've just got my grades for this semester, and they're pretty alright. Could be better, but in the midst of the chaos which I call my mid-sem exams, I could say that I got what I expected, and one actually one up better than I thought I deserved. So, all-in-all, they're fairly alright. Nothing but the thought of that to relax and free up my mind being in the state of mind that I'm in now: Melbourne-free.

Seriously, it wouldn't have been possible without the help of my friends here (in Brisbane). If it's not for them (and their pressure), who knew what kind of grades I would have got. Thanks, guys. No, really, thank you.

Once I'm done full-on burning in Melbourne, it's back to the usual drill. But for now, I shall enjoy this winter moment here.

Remember how I said I love to really get lost in Wikipedia and the knowledge gained from it? I believe I'm now destroying my brain reading Uncyclopedia.

In other news, I'm thinking of going KL tomorrow. The much postponed trip has been waiting from the weekend and then yesterday, and then tomorrow. Oh well. And I'm supposed to fly off Sunday night to Brisbane. What a head-cramped-explosion of a time-management this is going to be. I'm crazy in that kinda way. I'll be back by Saturday, I hope. I won't go if Yvonne didn't want to go, and Munkao's "Russian" didn't need to be delivered there.

That's right. I said "Russian". It's an old camera from the former Soviet Union that he asked me to get off ebay. I'm pretty sure there's a proper name for it but I like how the "R" rolls off my tongue. Repeat after me. "Russian". Rrrrussian. I'm pretty some people would spell that with a reversed cyrillic "R". But I'm probably wrong. Besides, I'm too lazy to look for the HTML code for that character. If you don't understand what I'm talking about. Forget this paragraphy. It didn't exist.

The Stuff Dreams are made from...

I can't believe it. It looks too surreal to be anything but a dream. But I was there. You can't see me, but I assure you, I was there. It's bean a long, windy road, a journey that couldn't have been completed without the support of my friends and family.

Two days later, I was gone.

Suddenly, I've gone MIA again (as I have, all the time). And then, I'm back in Singapore. Set my watch 2 hours back. I feel like the Sun comes down an hour later. But that's an illusion. Caused by Earth's rotation around the Sun.

Fast forward to last friday. Among some of my friends. Things change. Many things have. But it's hard to describe the feelings you have meeting with your old friends. You feel a sense of attachment and yet, everything has changed. You want to hang out with them forever. But things come to and end eventually.

Back track to the Thursday 8 days before. Touching down. The air's different. I can feel it. I can smell it. Home, sweet, home. Or not. Family's here, nevertheless.

The next day. Met up with friends. And their new friends. No longer his girlfriend. Now his wife. And somebody has a new boyfriend. How much difference 1 year can make.

Forward to Monday. Somebody's doing really well. Somebody not so. But it's not too bad. We're all still friends. And that's good.

And now today. 1 more week till I go missing again.

Happy belated 4th Xanganniversary. 3 days late. I gotta do something about this!

It's been a hectic few days. You know what's the most annoying thing to me these days? Asking someone out and getting the OK, only to find that on that day, that person wants to bring her friends along and asks you to bring yours.

I hope your week was better.

PS. My birthday week was alright. Could've been better. Could've been worse.

Happy Birthday. It's Fauzi Week. This is probably the first time I had to organise my own birthday dinner. Don't ask how it was. Very few people showed up, but it's pretty alright. I'm not good at doing that kinda things.

What else can I say? If that was here (in Australia), they'll be hearing from the government soon... I'm not even sure where she can forward this to.. Maybe the press.. good luck.

PS. It's been technically forever since I've been here.. Sure, I've had some small updates here and there, but I haven't really taken the time to go through Xanga lately.. And my, how things changed. I'm not even sure what half of these new damnfangled things do but I suppose I'll find out. Tried reading some of the blogs I used to read before Uni (and life) got in the way, but there's just too much to catch up.

PPS. Oh, and I'm finished with Uni, I suppose. Results are not out, but I kinda already know what they are. They're very so-so, but I'm thankful that I'm done.. Now, I'm deciding what to do next.. Getting a job isn't too easy for someone on visa (but at least it isn't on the grounds of what skin colour I'm born with). Getting a flight home now would be even harder. Tickets are so expensive, yet Sanjay told me his flight this morning was full of empty seats. Hmmmmmm.
